Isle of May

David I founded a priory on the Isle of May which became a place of pilgrimage after the murder of St Adrian.
The Old Lighthouse was the first in Scotland, built in 1636. Today the island is popular with bird watchers who come to see gannets and puffins. Boat trips run regularly from Anstruther harbour during the summer months. |
